Bio
Louisa Brott is a queer Latina writer, director, and production designer based in Los Angeles. With a cup of tea always in hand, she writes and directs vibrant romantic comedies from her apartment that’s decorated in a way that can only be described as eclectic Gen-Z.

Story
My passion for storytelling began as a young girl being bustled from one military base to the next. In the marshes of Louisiana, I searched for my own “Terabithia." In the thick woods of upstate New York, I searched for my own heartthrob vampire boyfriend behind every tree. Finding the “coming of age” film in everything I did in my youth mirrors that same pull to storytelling that fuels my work as a filmmaker and art director.
Over the years, I’ve honed my craft, drawing from a rich background in color theory, creative writing, and film theory at the University of Colorado Boulder. My journey through these diverse disciplines allows me to bring a unique perspective to each project, molding environments that not only set the scene but also enhance the emotional core of the story. Whether creating sets or directing a film, I strive to make every detail resonate with the heart of the narrative.
As a queer filmmaker, I am particularly passionate about redefining the romantic comedy genre to reflect the diversity and inclusivity of today’s world. I believe that love, in all its forms, deserves to be celebrated and portrayed with warmth and authenticity, much like a cozy cottage on a sunny day.
My work in the art department has been showcased on Max, Hulu, and Discovery+, and I take pride in crafting stories that offer both joy and a fresh perspective on love.
With my love for candid communication and the joy of collaboration, I find immense satisfaction in working with creative minds to bring stories to life. I currently live in Los Angeles, where I spend my sunny days arranging flowers, creating pitch decks, and dreaming up new adventures with my long-time partner.
You can catch a glimpse of my latest work in projects like Help! I Wrecked My House Repacks, Tia Mowry’s Weekend Refresh, and more.
Stay tuned for the next adventure...
